Our Interdisciplinary Team

Particular brings together a cross disciplinary team of industry professionals consisting of experienced urban planners, design architects, project / procurement managers and construction / building experts.

We have been very intentional about assembling the intelligence required to deliver powerful design outcomes.

Broad experience base

Our team has been involved with a wide gamut of projects varying in scale and complexity. We have a collective 20 years of experience in planning, designing, managing / procuring and constructing buildings.

Our project experience range from single unit residential projects ($0.6- $1.1 million), multi-residential projects, commercial fitouts, to large, complex institutional and health facilities(>$200 million), to masterplanning of large mixed-use developments.

Ho Kien Keong

Managing Partner, Malaysia

Ar Ho Kien Keong is the Founding Director of the Particular office in Kuala Lumpur (trading as Konzepte). He brings with him an extensive experience of over 30 years in the design and delivery of major projects in Malaysia.

Since 1983, he has worked with most of the key developers in Malaysia and has successfully delivered a significant number of large Commercial, Residential and Retail projects.

His experience in managing and leading large complex projects and his commitment to quality design and built outcomes has been a highly sought after asset within the local construction & development community.

Nicholas Ling

B. Arch (Hons), Registered Architect
Partner, Australia & Malaysia

Nicholas has extensive experience in designing and delivering large institutional public buildings. Over the past 7 years, Nicholas has led the design and delivery of projects with a combined value of over $700 million at one of Australia's largest design practices. He has been involved with educational and research buildings, sub acute and acute health-care facilities, community centres, museums, residential projects and large inner city mixed-used masterplans.

His skills include his critical design approach, business case / feasibility development, stakeholder engagement / management, strategic masterplanning, health planning, detailed planning and design.

He has demonstrated the ability to lead large multi-disciplinary project teams and to manage complex stakeholder groups. Nicholas sits on the board of a private museum in Melbourne and teaches in the Undergraduate and Masters program at RMIT University.

Nicholas leads the design and research activities at Particular.

Jonathan Lee

Managing Partner, Australia & PNG

With a background in architecture, building construction, and property development, Jonathan understands the delicate relationship and balance between design, constructability and cost.

Jonathan brings extensive experience from being involved in ground-breaking residential and commercial projects with one of the largest building contractors in Australia. He employs an insightful multi-disciplinary approach in ensuring successful outcomes amidst confronting and challenging design conditions.

Jonathan has previously been involved in numerous projects, from inception to completion, with development values of up to AUD$80 million. These range from large-scale mixed-used residential and retail projects to complex 5 star Green Star rated commercial towers. He has held multiple roles that include client/consultant liaison, design value management, coordinating personnel and resources, as well as the management of budget and cost for the successful and timely delivery of projects.

Jonathan leads Particular's constant pursuit of innovation in design, construction, and management practices.

Craig McLeod

Partner, Australia

Craig is a Retail Design Architect with over 20 years experience. Prior to joining Particular, Craig led the Retail Design and Planning team at one of Australia's largest practices. His approach to project leadership is both holistic and cross disciplinary. He provides hands-on leadership to all aspects of project procurement - from initial briefing and brief development, to the design development, construction documentation, on-site contract administration and construction stage services. He brings to each project a critical approach and an extensive portfolio of first hand know-how which is consistently deployed through each phase of the project, ensuring powerful design ideas result in tangible design outcomes. 

 

Craigs extensive portfolio of project leadership experience include the ongoing Highpoint Shopping Centre Masterplan, Stratford City Development in London, the Point Cook Town Centre and the Langham Hotel refurbishment.

Joe Genovesi

B. Arch (Hons), Registered Architect
Partner, Australia

Joe is a project architect with over 25 years experience delivering major project both locally and abroad. He specializes in the strategic delivery and design control of complex, multi-phased, multi-stakeholder projects. His hands-on approach, coupled with a natural ability to manage and mobilize large multi-disciplinary teams enable systematic implementation of projects from commencement to completion. Joe brings his expertise to a wide range of project type, with a strong focus of retail planning and design.

His project leadership experience include the Victoria Point Residential & Retail Development, Westfield London, Holmes Hill CHadstone, and the Trillium.

William Creed

Construction & Documentation Leader

William has been involved with the documentation and construction liaison on a wide range of projects of varying scales and complexity. He has been responsible for managing and coordinating the input of large project consultants groups and the assembly of integrated construction documents and specifications.

William works alongside Nicholas and Jonathan throughout the design process. His keen understanding of construction methodologies and performance of materials systems provides real-time benchmarking of quality and constructability.

Wallace Ong

Associate, Interior Design Leader Malaysia

Wallace is a senior architectural and interior designer with more than 30 years experience practicing between New Zealand and Malaysia. He has a diverse portfolio of completed projects ranging from large mixed use retail developments to high-end hotels, corporate and residential projects

He brings an indepth, hand-on understanding of complex, multi-stakeholder, multi-phase interior design projects. His methodology is informed by many years of hand-on applied research and documenting / measuring outcomes. Heavily evidence based, his approach is shaped by a fundamental undertsanding of consumer patterns and powerful insights into retail and work modalities, alongside an in-depth understanding of the post-delivery life of retail projects.

Marie Tan

Interior Design Leader Melbourne

Marie has extensive experience in the successful design and delivery of both commercial fit-outs and residential interior projects.

She brings with her a keen understanding of commercial / retail planning and design, user experience (UX) design, branding / image and merchandising design.

She provides in-depth know-how of procurement methodologies / strategies (interior projects), an expansive knowledge of material / finishes and spatial planning expertise.
