300 Room Resort, 240 Suite Condominium

Drawing design cues from traditional Chinese lanterns, the project consists of two rectilinear forms delicately poised over the beachfront. Cladded in a bio-climatic aluminium screen which provides shelter from the hot and humid climate, the two forms - one a 300 bedroom hotel and the other a 240 unit condominium tower, sit above a shared roof garden and a private spa retreat. Below, three podium levels house premium retail tenancies, an event and banqueting centre and boutique restaurants.

This minimal composition utilizes a highly efficient structural system and repetitive/modularized building elements - achieving a design outcome that is both efficient to deliver and cost sensitive.

Responding to the tropical climate, the project features extensive first principles ESD initiatives - all circulation spaces are naturally ventilated, large atriums which allow the penetration of filtered natural light, deep eaves for passive shading, rain water collection and re-use.
