The Clow Street Apartments is one of many multi-unit developments currently being planned for within the progressive and rapidly densifying Council of Dandenong. Growing concerns of the loss of neighbourhood character and identity is met with even more of the same- poorly conceived stock, large uncharacterful boxes- stretching the limits of a relatively forgiving Planning Scheme.

Departing from the homogenous large scale decorated box, the design proposes instead to celebrate the 'small' 12 individual units- creating a community of homes, each with its own presence and address onto the street. This breaking down of scale and bulk sensitively negotiates the change in height from its single storey neighbours, allowing the development to ist comfortably alongside the smaller built forms. The use of a similar material pallete further strengthens and emphasizes its 'ties' to the neighbourhood.
